Privacy Policy

Information Doesn’t ‘Want’ To Be Free.

Here at Futurescale, your privacy is important to us. Where your communications with us are concerned, we maintain the utmost confidentiality and take steps to avoid unnecessary accumulation or handling of personal information.

Information Collected by the Zarqon Desktop Control Center

The Zarqon Desktop Control Center application stores your Zarqon License Holder information, License Key, Amazon Web Service Credentials, Email Configuration, Ad Vendor, Payments Vendor and any other configuration data that you enter in an encrypted local store for so that you do not have to enter them again after installing the application. That information is never transmitted to Futurescale in any way, it is used only to ensure you have a valid license and to allow you to manage the licenses you issue, which are stored in your Amazon Web Services S3 account.

Information Handled by the Zarqon API

The Zarqon API library connects directly via SSL connection to your Amazon Web Services S3 account and manages several buckets there. Your Products and License Holders (and a copy of all their licenses) are stored in buckets that are only accessible to you with your credentials. It stores the licenses that are read by users of your Zarqon-licensed applications when they perform validation in a publicly-readable bucket, but the information in the bucket is encrypted and unusable by anyone other than the licensed website or with the license holder's details. At no time does the API transmit or expose any of your information to Futurescale or any other entity.

Sharing of Personal or Company Information

Futurescale will never share your email address or other personal or company information with anyone, except as required by law, or where you voluntarily opt in to a program or service that explicitly shares some of your information with others. Any such program or service offered by Futurescale will fully divulge the extent of such information sharing prior to installing or activating your membership.

Cookies

AES Encryption is Strong Enough for Government Work

In June 2003, the US Government announced that AES encryption (the cipher used by Zarqon to encrypt license data) may be used to protect classified information:

"The design and strength of all key lengths of the AES algorithm (i.e., 128, 192 and 256) are sufficient to protect classified information up to the SECRET level."

Amazon S3 is Reliable Enough for Wall Street

"Nasdaq stores many terabytes of  NYSE, Nasdaq and Amex data in Amazon’s storage cloud," according to Claude Courbois, associate VP, product development.

"Nasdaq adds 30 to 80 gigabytes of data every day to the cloud, about 300,000 flat files, each representing 10 minutes’ worth of trading activity on a stock.”
