Configuring the Zarqon Desktop Control Center
There are a few items that can be optionally configured in addition to the license and credentials that the Zarqon Desktop Control Center collects the first time it is installed.
-
The Zarqon Desktop Control Center can send email to your License Holders. It can use your system's configured email client or connect directly to your SMTP server to do this.
-
If you run advertising campaigns on the web Zarqon can provide you with Quick Link to your Ad Vendor's Campaign Management URL on the Products screen. It will use your system's default browser to open the page.
-
If you sell your software on on the web, Zarqon can provide you with a Quick Link to your Payment Vendor's Order Management URL on the Licenses Screen. It will use your system's default browser to open the page.
Accessing the Outgoing Email Configuration Panel
From the Overview Panel, you can click the 'Configure Email' link at the top of the screen to change the email-related options.

Configuring Email Defaults
The Email Configuration Panel contains three tabs, and the first displayed is the Defaults tab.
From here, you can change the default 'From' address, email subject line and whether the system will use an SMTP server to send email.
It is recommended that you change the default address from which Zarqon sends email, which is the email address associated with your Zarqon Issuer's License. Since that is part of the secret that unlocks your License to use Zarqon, it is a good idea not to issue your licenses from this address.

Configuring Email Intro Text
The second tab on the Email Configuration Panel allows you to change the introductory text that is placed at the top of each email body.
Feel free to customize or completely replace the message, but be sure to make it clear to the recipient that their Name, Email and License Key must be entered into your application exactly as they appear in the email.

Configuring Email SMTP Server
If you checked the 'Use SMTP Server' check box on the Defaults tab, then the SMTP Server tab will be available.
From here, you can enter the information necessary to connect to your server. You can enter your server hostname, port and if your server requires authentication, the username and password.

Configuring an Ad Vendor
Chances are you will advertise your software product somewhere on the Internet, if not multiple places.
The Zarqon Control Center comes preloaded with the name and campaign management URLS of several popular Ad Vendors and will let you configure a quick link on the Products screen to the one you use most, but you can change it anytime you want. At the top of the Products screen click the 'Configure Ad Vendor' link.

The Configure Ad Vendor Panel
You can select from the list at the left of the Configure Ad Vendor Panel to automatically fill out the Name and URL, or you can enter any Ad Vendor that isn't already on the list.
If yours isn't on the list and you switch the link a lot, just contact us with the name and URL, and we'll add the vendor to the list and help spread the word to other Zarqon Issuers.

The Ad Vendor Quick Link
Once you've configured your Ad Vendor, the Products screen will show a quick link that when clicked will open a browser window to your Ad Vendor's Campaign Management page.
You'll also see that the 'Configure Ad Vendor' link now reads 'Change Ad Vendor'. If you wish to remove the Ad Vendor, you can click the 'Change Ad Vendor' link and you'll see a 'No Vendor' button, which will remove the Quick Link and return the original 'Configure Ad Vendor' link.

Configuring a Payments Vendor
Selling your software on the Internet will also likely entail working with one or more Payment Vendors to take orders and accept payment.
The Zarqon Control Center comes preloaded with the name and order management URLS of several popular Payment Vendors and will let you configure a quick link on the Licenses screen to the one you use most, but you can change it anytime you want. At the top of the Licenses screen click the 'Configure Payment Vendor' link.

The Configure Payments Vendor Panel
You can select from the list at the left of the Configure Payments Vendor Panel to automatically fill out the Name and URL, or you can enter any Payments Vendor that isn't already on the list.
If yours isn't on the list and you switch the link a lot, just contact us with the name and URL, and we'll add the vendor to the list and help spread the word to other Zarqon Issuers.

The Payments Vendor Quick Link
Once you've configured your Payments Vendor, the Licenses screen will show a quick link that when clicked will open a browser window to your Payment Vendor's Order Management page.
You'll also see that the 'Configure Payments Vendor' link now reads 'Change Payments Vendor'. If you wish to remove the Payments Vendor, you can click the 'Change Payments Vendor' link and you'll see a 'No Vendor' button, which will remove the Quick Link and return the original 'Configure Payment Vendor' link.
